In a surprising turn of events, Cozomo de’ Medici, the renowned American rapper known as Snoop Dogg, recently disclosed on Twitter that he had received an offer of $0.00 for XCOPY’s “Right-click and Save As Guy” NFT, which he had acquired for $7 million.
This particular NFT was initially minted on December 6, 2018, and it gained significant notoriety when it was featured in Beeple’s historic “Everydays” auction, a piece that garnered attention on BBC World News and marked a pivotal moment in the public’s perception of NFTs. Cozomo de’ Medici’s acquisition of this NFT took place on December 9, 2021, at a price of $7 million or 1600 ETH.
This purchase represented an astounding increase in the artwork’s value, exceeding 3,500%, as the NFT had previously changed hands only twice, selling for $90 (1 ETH) and $174,195 (99 ETH) on separate occasions.
However, the surprising twist came this year when Medici publicly shared that he had received an offer worth $0 for the NFT on his Twitter account. Shortly after his tweet, a subsequent offer was made on the NFT for 0.069 ETH, equivalent to approximately $109 at the time.
