Mythical Games, the renowned Web3 gaming studio, is preparing for the global release of its highly anticipated mobile soccer game, FIFA Rivals, in June. The game, inspired by FIFA and designed for mobile devices, will be available on both iOS and Android platforms, with a pre-release set for May.
The launch of FIFA Rivals will coincide with the FIFA Club World Cup, marking a significant milestone for Mythical Games. Developed in collaboration with Colombia-based Bacon Games, the title integrates blockchain technology, offering football fans a unique Web3 experience.
This new release follows the success of Mythical’s earlier title, NFL Rivals, which attracted nearly 3 million players by the end of 2023. Mythical Games has established itself as a leader in Web3 gaming, working with major sports brands like FIFA and the NFL.
FIFA itself has ventured into Web3 with digital collectibles that offer exclusive benefits, such as the chance to win tickets to the 2026 World Cup final.
Mythical Games has seen substantial growth in the Web3 space, securing $150 million in a Series C funding round led by a16z in 2021. The funding helped elevate the company’s valuation to $1.25 billion. Other investors include ARK Invest, Animoca Brands, MoonPay, PROOF, and Stanford Athletics.
Looking ahead, Mythical is also working on a new mobile game based on the Pudgy Penguins NFT brand, set for release in 2025.
With FIFA Rivals, Mythical Games aims to score big by combining football fandom with cutting-edge blockchain technology.
