Mitsubishi, Fujitsu and other tech companies said they would create the “Japan Metaverse Economic Zone,” joining forces to create an open metaverse infrastructure to drive the country’s Web3 strategy, which Japan has been working to include on its national agenda. In October, Japanese Prime Minister Nobusuke Kishi said the country would invest in digital transformation services, including NFTs and Metaverse.
