Aptos Labs has unveiled Shardines, a new blockchain execution engine that enables horizontal scalability and allows the Aptos network to process up to 1 million transactions per second (TPS).
A Major Breakthrough in Blockchain Scalability
Announced on February 5, Shardines achieves near-linear throughput scaling by decoupling consensus from storage. This approach enables independent scaling, optimizing the network for maximum throughput.
