Uniswap Labs has announced a strategic partnership with Ledger, enabling users to seamlessly trade tokens directly within the Ledger Live platform while maintaining the highest level of security. This integration allows users to perform swaps on Uniswap without leaving the Ledger Live app, all while leveraging Ledger’s industry-leading hardware wallet security.
The new feature integrates the Uniswap Trading API, a tool developed by the same team behind blockchain infrastructure, directly into Ledger Live. The collaboration aims to simplify decentralized finance (DeFi) trading and enhance the self-custody experience for users.
“We’re thrilled to partner with Ledger to bring a more user-friendly and secure trading experience,” said Mary-Catherine Lader, Chief Operating Officer of Uniswap Labs. “By combining our innovations, we are unlocking the potential of decentralized exchange for more people worldwide.”
A standout feature of this integration is “clear signing,” which allows users to approve transactions in a format that is easy to understand, adding an extra layer of security. This feature ensures that users can view and confirm transaction details before authorizing, protecting them from errors or malicious activity.
Ian Rogers, Chief Experience Officer at Ledger, emphasized the importance of this feature, stating, “Clear signing is the only secure way users should be authorizing transactions.” The integration also supports token swaps on the Ethereum network, such as converting Ether (ETH) into stablecoins.
With over 7 million devices sold globally, Ledger protects more than 20% of the world’s crypto assets. Meanwhile, Uniswap continues to dominate the decentralized exchange space, having processed over $2.5 trillion in transactions without a security breach.
Ledger remains committed to providing a comprehensive solution for the secure management of digital assets. “You can now earn yield, secure your logins, buy, send, and swap digital assets—all within Ledger Live, thanks to our collaboration with Uniswap,” added Rogers.
