Phantom, the popular cryptocurrency wallet platform, has achieved a significant milestone by securing a spot in the top 10 of iOS’s most downloaded free apps. As of November 20, the wallet surged to 9th place, outpacing well-established apps like WhatsApp and Instagram, which ranked 13th and 14th, respectively. The only app ahead of Phantom in the top 10 was TikTok, which held 8th place.
This remarkable rise reflects Phantom’s expanding user base and growing prominence in the crypto community. It also climbed to 2nd position in the utility app category, trailing only Google’s search app.
The growth of Phantom has been swift. Just a week earlier, the platform was ranked 377th on November 12, marking a rapid leap into the top 10 in less than seven days. Initially launched on Solana, Phantom now supports a variety of blockchains, including Ethereum, Bitcoin, Base, and Polygon, offering a comprehensive suite of services for crypto enthusiasts.
This surge comes on the heels of significant investment for Phantom, which raised $109 million in Series B funding in January 2022. This funding round, which also marked the launch of its iOS app, valued the company at $1.2 billion.
Phantom’s rise in the rankings highlights the growing popularity of non-custodial wallets, which give users greater control over their digital assets. With its strong iOS presence and expanding features, Phantom continues to be a preferred choice for crypto users seeking a secure, intuitive wallet solution.
