As Donald Trump prepares for his second term, attention has turned to his potential pardon list for the first 100 days of his presidency. Among the most talked-about names is Ross Ulbricht, the founder of the Silk Road marketplace, who currently holds a 68% chance of receiving a pardon, according to a prediction chart from Polymarket, a popular forecasting platform.
Ulbricht’s case has gained renewed attention following Trump’s October 2024 post on Truth Social, where the former president vowed to “save” the incarcerated tech entrepreneur. Ulbricht’s connection to the Silk Road, a marketplace known for its involvement in illegal activities, has made the prospect of his pardon highly controversial. Despite this, Trump’s public commitment has fueled speculation and heightened the debate surrounding his release.
The Polymarket data also highlights other prominent figures with potential for pardons. January 6 protesters top the list with a 78% chance, while Trump’s former ally Steve Bannon has a 22% probability. Other notable figures like Julian Assange (16%) and celebrities such as Diddy and Young Thug remain unlikely candidates for a pardon at this stage.
With Trump’s strong stance on controversial issues, his early days in office are expected to be marked by bold and unpredictable decisions regarding clemency. The spotlight is now on who will be granted a second chance—and whether Ross Ulbricht will be among them.
