Singapore, August 15, 2024 – Confirmation Labs, the visionary behind the collaborative roguelite shooter Riftstorm, has announced the launch of its groundbreaking NFT verification system, “Proof of Exposure,” designed to address the rising threat of bot interference in Web3 gaming.
This advanced system aims to ensure that genuine users, eager to fully engage with the game’s narrative, are recognized and rewarded. To join the authorized list, players must secure approval from the Mythic Protocol, the game’s covert organization, and demonstrate their past accomplishments.
“Proof of Exposure” leverages sophisticated analytical methods to identify and reward the most deserving community members who can drive the game’s storyline forward. Successful applicants will gain exclusive minting rights for the upcoming XPSR-24 NFT series, which will be integrated into Confidence Labs’ FICT ONE: Occult universe.
NFT holders of the XPSR-24 series will represent the elite of humanity, summoned to join a high-stakes program aimed at combating mythical threats within the universe. Achieving higher clearance levels will reflect one’s influence, professional status, game achievements, on-chain value, and creativity.
Arief Widhiyasa, CEO of Confirmation Labs, emphasized, “Proof of Exposure not only combats bot activity but also enriches the Occult universe narrative. This system allows passionate community members to play a pivotal role in shaping our intellectual property, fostering a deeper connection with our audience through verified accomplishments.”
The bot problem in Web3 games is escalating, with a significant portion of rewards intended for real users being diverted to automated accounts. According to Cookie3, a Web3 marketing platform, 70% of airdrops are often claimed by bots, while Jigger, a bot defense service provider, reports that 40% of Web3 users are identified as bots. As the market for blockchain games expands, the prevalence of such accounts is expected to increase unless effective countermeasures are implemented.
The “Proof of Exposure” system involves a rigorous verification process using third-party APIs, large language models (LLMs), data queries, and user submissions to confirm that participants are genuine individuals. This initiative aims to fortify the permit list against bot intrusion by imposing stringent requirements.
This innovation aligns with Confidence Labs’ collaborative entertainment vision, allowing players to contribute to the game’s evolution through user-generated content such as writing, art, and music. The behavior of players within the game will also influence story development, enhancing the immersive experience.
NFTs in the XPSR-24 series will be dynamic, with opportunities for upgrades and evolution through in-game tasks. Higher-level NFT holders may receive additional rewards.
In the initial phase, Confirmation Labs introduced “Human Proof” and “Network Proof” applications. The former verifies an applicant’s identity through social media links, while the latter assesses their capacity to contribute to the Occult community. Both applications are deeply rooted in the Riftstorm legend, requiring XPSR-24 members to validate their human identity and build global connections to support their mission.
