Starbucks Korea is breaking new ground in the digital realm with its innovative eco-friendly NFT project, “STARBUCKS STAR★LIGHT,” set to launch tomorrow—a pioneering endeavor in Asia.
Part of the Starbucks NFT rewards program, STARBUCKS STAR★LIGHT encourages customers to bring their own cups. By reusing their personal cups, patrons can earn Eco stamps on their Starbucks Rewards accounts, unlocking access to exclusive NFT rewards over time and fostering a sense of commitment to sustainable practices.
In tandem with the NFT rewards program, Starbucks Korea is also spotlighting NFT art through an exclusive exhibition at the Starbucks Jongno R store in Seoul, featuring digital artworks by local Korean artists. This exhibition is scheduled to run until the end of January.
Unlocking Exclusive Starbucks NFTs
Members of Starbucks Rewards can earn NFTs by utilizing the Siren Order (mobile ordering) platform while using their personal cups, earning one Eco Stamp per purchase. Once a sufficient number of Eco Stamps is collected, customers can exchange them for NFTs. Customers can accumulate a maximum of three Eco Stamps per day, with three tiers of collectible NFTs available for redemption.
BASIC NFT: One NFT can be redeemed for five Eco Stamps.
CREATIVE NFT: Fifteen Eco Stamps unlock a limited edition NFT, with 20,000 copies available.
ARTIST NFT: Twenty Eco Stamps grant access to a limited edition NFT, restricted to 1,000 copies.
It is important to note that only one NFT can be issued per account, and customers must collect the required number of Eco Stamps to obtain their desired NFT. Once a customer acquires a BASIC NFT with 5 Eco Stamps, obtaining NFTs of other levels becomes unavailable.
CryptoArt with a Purpose
The Starbucks Korea NFTs result from a collaboration between Starbucks Korea and Print Bakery, a leading digital art platform in Korea. The initiative showcases an extensive collection of digital artwork contributed by local artists, including renowned artist “DADAZ.” All digital creations center around the theme “My Own Cup,” emphasizing the significance of reusable cups and tumblers in fostering a sustainable environment.
Starbucks Korea’s exclusive NFT exhibition at the Jongno R store in Seoul not only adds vibrancy to the store but also underscores Starbucks’ unwavering dedication to blending artistic expression with a commitment to a greener future.
This NFT initiative by Starbucks Korea transcends the realm of digital assets; it serves as a testament to the power of art in promoting sustainable practices and inspiring positive change.
