Futureverse, a prominent AI and metaverse technology company, has unveiled ambitious plans to create a vast virtual world inspired by “Ready Player One.” This initiative, set in a future where individuals seek refuge in a virtual-reality simulation, is set to become a groundbreaking metaverse experience.
The newly established Readyverse Studios, a collaboration between Futureverse, novelist Ernest Cline (the creator of “Ready Player One”), and producer Dan Farah, has announced a major partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery. This exclusive deal aims to bring the Ready Player One franchise to the metaverse on the web3 platform. Additionally, Readyverse Studios secures exclusive web3 rights for all future intellectual property developed by Cline.
While specific details about the Ready Player One metaverse remain limited, the launch is anticipated in 2024. Readyverse Studios envisions creating an open metaverse experience characterized by multiple worlds, diverse intellectual properties, and interoperability for a broad consumer audience.
Shara Senderoff and Aaron McDonald, co-founders of Futureverse, stated, “The Readyverse will champion the principles of the open metaverse, which are provable digital ownership, community-owned infrastructure, decentralization, security, and interoperability.”
Ernest Cline expressed his excitement about the project, stating, “With Readyverse Studios, we have the opportunity to leverage the revolutionary technology Futureverse has been building for several years to bring to life the best possible version of the metaverse.”

The “Ready Player One” film, directed by Steven Spielberg and featuring Tye Sheridan as protagonist Wade Watts, achieved significant success with a global box office gross of $583 million. Josh Hackbarth, Senior VP of Franchise Development for Warner Bros.
