In a captivating convergence of traditional playing cards and the burgeoning world of NFTs, Bicycle Card, the renowned card brand, has chosen to include the NFT Bored Ape ‘Nate Digital’ in their latest Bored Ape Yacht Club Community Playing Card Collection. Owned by Nate Bloom, the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Open Swim, this NFT Ape now assumes the role of the Jack of Clubs within this unique collection. Each tuck case in the collection will adopt a fully randomized packaging system, featuring one of the 54 community Apes along with distinct color and pattern combinations.
Nate Bloom expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “I’ve always been interested in ways to explore the IP use of NFTs. When Bicycle posted a casting call, it was a no-brainer to jump at the opportunity to be linked to such an iconic brand. It’s fun to not only be featured as the Jack of Clubs, but to also see some friendly faces on the other cards. And who doesn’t love a good ol’ fashioned deck of cards?!”
Open Swim founder Bradley Ross reflected on the enduring appeal of NFT collections like Bored Ape Yacht Club, noting, “Phase one of NFTs was an exciting coming together of artists and techies in celebration of this new medium. When the bubble burst, many of the collections vanished, but the apes are still hanging on. Bicycle is doing something unique to leverage those properties, and it’s nice to see them have a new life in the practical world.”
Amyliz Pera, Executive Producer at Open Swim, emphasized the company’s commitment to celebrating diverse abilities and interests. She highlighted Nate’s contributions to the realm of web3 and digital art, underscoring the positive impact on the team’s creative projects. Open Swim continues to engage in a wide range of creative endeavors, nurturing a culture of support and uplifting collaboration.
This innovative collaboration between traditional card gaming and the world of NFTs not only breathes new life into collectibles but also highlights the evolving landscape where tangible and digital experiences seamlessly intersect.
