In a significant move to expand access to institutional investors, Deutsche Börse’s crypto arm, Crypto Finance AG, has integrated with Lido Institutional to enable custody and staking for Lido Staked ETH (stETH). This partnership marks an important milestone in the adoption of liquid staking for Ethereum (ETH) within the institutional investment landscape.
Lido Staked ETH (stETH) Custody and Staking Launched
Lido’s collaboration with Crypto Finance AG means that institutional clients now have the opportunity to leverage Lido’s liquid staking token, stETH, in a trusted and compliant manner. With this integration, Crypto Finance clients can incorporate stETH into their investment strategies, with a focus on three key investment approaches: safeguarding stETH holdings, unlocking liquidity, and engaging in decentralized finance (DeFi).
The safeguarding strategy offers a secure and compliant custody environment, ensuring that institutional users’ staked ETH is well-protected. In addition, users can access secondary liquidity of stETH, enabling them to earn staking rewards while maintaining flexibility with their staked assets. Furthermore, the integration opens doors for institutions to explore the broader DeFi ecosystem, using stETH to participate in decentralized finance activities.
Crypto Finance Executives on Lido Staking
Kasper Luyckx, Head of Wallet Infrastructure & Staking Services at Crypto Finance AG, praised the integration, calling it a significant step forward for meeting the demands of institutional clients. Luyckx emphasized that the partnership would set new standards for innovation and security in digital asset services, a key consideration for institutional investors.
Kean Gilbert, Institutional Relations Contributor to Lido DAO, highlighted the benefits of the integration, focusing on how stETH’s liquidity and flexibility could enhance institutional investment strategies. Gilbert also mentioned that this collaboration would help create new pathways for institutions to gain exposure to staked ETH.
What to Expect Next?
Although the integration between Crypto Finance AG and Lido Institutional is still in its early stages, both companies are optimistic about the potential impact of this partnership on the stETH market. The introduction of three distinct investment strategies and the opportunity to tap into the DeFi ecosystem is a significant development for institutional users.
Despite the positive outlook, the price of stETH has been fluctuating amid broader market uncertainty, with the token currently priced at $3,191, as investors await the release of US CPI inflation data.
